Iron Frontier Command

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Iron Frontier Command drops you on a contested map where you expand outposts, manage supply lines, and fend off rival factions. It's a real-time strategy game designed for touch, which usually goes badly, but here the unit grouping and tap-to-rally system are genuinely clever.

Battles play out in short, tense bursts. You rarely command more than a dozen units at once, which keeps things legible on a small screen. The campaign teaches mechanics gradually, and the skirmish mode is where it really opens up once you know what you're doing.

It leans on timers for construction, but they're short and never nagged us to hurry. We'd have liked more map variety, but the core loop of scout, fortify, strike is tight and rewarding.
